Traveling in the COVID-19 Era

The COVID-19 epidemic has impacted almost every business and changed many facets of our existence. More than 5 million confirmed cases have been documented worldwide, resulting in the deaths of more than 328,000 people. “Social separation” and “self-isolation” seem to have appeared out of nowhere in the communal vernacular. Schools and universities closed in an attempt to flatten the curve, causing millions of students to turn to homeschooling and virtual learning. Unemployment is at an all-time high. Of course, the tourism industry has been particularly badly struck as it tries to negotiate unfamiliar territory and answer concerns about travel that we’ve never had to face before in the COVID-19 era.

Millions of vacations have been canceled, some of the world’s most popular sites have shuttered, and the airline industry is in the midst of its worst crisis in history. With travel basically halted since the coronavirus made headlines, it’s difficult to say when things will “return to normal” or what the future holds.
